MIAMI ARIZONA REAL ESTATE

The Town of Miami, Gila County, in the Payson metro area is located in the mountains of south central Arizona, approximately 75 miles east of Phoenix and 110 miles north of Tucson. The present day Miami is located in Pinal Creek watershed for hundreds of years. In the 1860's the first non-Indians penetrated in the Pinal Creek region with expeditions organized by Anglo settlers and soldiers for the purpose of recovering stolen livestock from Apache raiders or conducting warfare against the Apaches. Miami economy is totally based on mining. There is economic diversity here with Globe and Miami with over 20 percent of the employment related to mining and production of copper. The Miami mine consists of an open-pit copper mine. Today, natural resources are still a part of the community’s industries. Globe and Miami, (the Cobre, or copper valley) form the heart of Arizona's mining areas.
